We recently completed another great shoot for Sherry Matthews Advocacy Marketing and the Texas Department of State Health Services. We previously shot a campaign promoting the benefits of breastfeeding, and this time the subject was Mother Friendly Worksites. We photographed working mothers in the home and in the worksite. Scheduling shoot days around feeding times and quick naps for the talent can prove a bit challenging!

Here are a few images from a recent shoot for Hormel, shot on location in the Chicago area for BBDO. Our producer, Annika Howe, did a fantastic job, pulling this production together on a very tight time-frame. And thank you to Jen Straus, our food stylist, who came in from San Francisco to work with us on this project!

We recently had the exciting opportunity to shoot a new campaign for Paragon Casino working with Peter Mayer Advertising. I’d be hard pressed to think of another shoot where we had this great of food and music on set! We were shooting musicians, gaming, dancing and food shots for a series of ads and outdoor boards. You cannot imagine how loud the washboard is when you are sitting a few feet away from him while he plays on and on and on!!!

Within minutes of crossing the bridge onto the Cape Cod, we had to stop at the first seafood place we found to enjoy some local food – lobster rolls and clam chowder! It was fantastic! Our destination was the Sea Crest Beach Hotel, located on one of the few beaches on Cape Cod that actually has a beach that faces west and gets sunsets. We were fortunate to have a window of perfect weather between two large storms and we were able to capture some great moments of families enjoying the wonderful amenities of the area, playing on the beach, water sports, bike riding, and enjoying the beautiful sunsets. Thank you to the fantastic staff and their friends and family who stepped in to be our models!

We had a fantastic shoot recently for Lake Austin Spa Resort, located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. This was my first time to enjoy this amazing resort and it was quite a treat. It was recently voted as the #1 destination spa in North America, and I can certainly see why! As always, Bonnie Markel did a fantastic job styling the shoot. Thank you to Rob Wilson, Sullivan Perkins and everyone at LASR for their help in coordinating the project!

Over 5000 dishes and plates and more than 2000 white towels were on the props list for our recent shoot for the Procter & Gamble London Olympics ads. For one of the other ads we had the interesting challenge looking for the largest, cleanest restroom we could find. Believe it or not, we found one with over 50 stalls!

 

Here are some images from a recent shoot for famed Chef John Besh’s new restaurant in San Antonio, LUKE. This is Besh’s first restaurant outside of his home state of Louisiana. Next time you are strolling around the River Walk, stop by for some fantastic food.

This series of images from our shoot in Gubbio, Italy, won an award for Self Promotion Series in the recent Applied Arts Annual. Here we are getting an early start on the day, as we are getting ready to go truffle hunting! This is the road leading to Villa Fassia where we are staying near Gubbio, Italy. These amazing Italian cypress trees are everywhere. We used the top photo as our recent Archive ad image.

For most, this would be a once in a lifetime experience: the opportunity to spend a morning going truffle hunting in Italy! This is a truly old world business, where secrets are handed down from father to son, for generations. As was the case with Massimo, who welcomed us along on a morning of hunting for the elusive white truffle. They are the rarest of the coveted truffles with the shortest hunting season. They have an unforgettable smell, and after having them with almost every meal for a week, and unforgettable taste. Thank you to Summar and Lisa (whose son Ian manages the NY distribution office) for inviting me along on this amazing adventure. Another great shoot for Hyatt Resorts. This year we had the opportunity to shoot for both the Hyatt Hill Country and Hyatt Lost Pines Resorts. Here are a few selects from the many shots that we did during the shoot. Thanks to everyone at Kolar Advertising (now Proof Advertising), Hyatt and to Bonnie Markel for another great styling job.

We had an incredible shoot recently for the BreastMilkCounts campaign. We were photographing newborns, some as young as three days old, with their mothers. These are just a few from the whole series of images, some of which will be used as a poster series and campaign for the Department of State Health Services. Amazing things happen when you take the diapers off of a newborn baby while they are breast feeding! Let’s just say we couldn’t have too many rolls of paper towels.
